Panatime simply loaded on a black PVD clasp to our elephant strap that happened to match the PVD on the Breitling Airwolf case perfectly. So now our M5 had a whole new look to it that included a lighter elephant skin suede strap and a black PVD deployment clasp. The best part about it...it only cost $80 for the strap, the clasp, and the labor (which is free of charge). You simply can not find a strap like this, with a PVD deployment clasp like this, anywhere. We were shown 8 different choices of straps, ranging in thickness, color, material, and finish. We chose a 24mm elephant skin suede strap that really gives the M5 a new look. The strap came with a stainless buckle, but like we said above, we were looking for a deployment clasp. No problem at all.
We had been hearing about Panatime and their Breitling Airwolf straps on the forums for ages. We had met countless people around town that were customers, all of which sung their praises, and yet we ourselves had never explored what it is this three year old Breitling Airwolf strap studio had to offer. We decided to change all that.We called over to the Panatime showroom in mid-town Manhattan just this past week and set up an appointment to view what they had. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Stan, the founder and owner of Panatime. He showed us around their show-room and studio...and then we got down to business. As a test, we brought along our sample Lum-Tec M5 (reviewed here) because of its relatively large size and likeness to a Panerai. We said we wanted something that would highlight the LUM of the M5 and we said we wanted something entirely different than either the black leather stitched strap or the black steel bracelet that accompanied the M5. To make things interesting, we also asked for a deployment clasp. We could not be happier with the results.
